Erik is proud to support American Humane, the country’s first national humane organization, which saves, shelters, feeds and protects nearly one billion animals around the world each year.

For the past four years, Erik has been a judge for the American Humane Hero Dog Awards, the annual, nationally televised “Oscars for dogs” which recognizes outstanding working dogs from across the country and showcases the lifesaving work of American Humane. This work includes rescuing animals in natural disasters and cruelty cases; protecting and preserving Earth’s disappearing species; safeguarding animals in television and film through their iconic “No Animals Were Harmed®” program; training dogs in need of forever homes to be lifesaving free service dogs for veterans; and helping ensure the proper treatment of hundreds of millions of farm animals.

Unlike many charities that do many different things, Smile Train's mission is focused on solving a single problem: cleft lip and cleft palate. Clefts are a major problem in developing countries where there are millions of children who are suffering with unrepaired clefts. Most cannot eat or speak properly. Aren't allowed to attend school or hold a job. And face very difficult lives filled with shame and isolation, pain and heartache. Their clefts usually go untreated because they are poor – too poor to pay for a simple surgery that has been around for decades. The good news is every single child with a cleft can be helped with surgery that costs as little as $250.

Through its interactive website, special events, materials, PSAs, and other educational opportunities, Safe Surfin’ educates the public about Internet crimes involving children. Safe Surfin’ works with the U.S. Department of Justice, school systems, public libraries that offer Internet access, law enforcement agencies, and corporate sponsors to further its mission. Safe Surfin’ seeks donations from individuals and corporations to further its mission. The Foundation is tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. AEFK's encompassing mission is to give disadvantaged children a fighting chance for a happy, productive life. For increasing numbers of youngsters, the ideal of an innocent, carefree childhood is a pipe dream. Their lives are compromised by poor health, teen parenthood, violence, poverty, substance abuse, and inadequate education. The threatening nature of their life circumstances precludes play, creativity, and hope to the detriment of the development of strong feelings of self worth and personal independence, the foundations of adult productivity.

The California Highway Patrol 11-99 Foundation is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit, charitable organization.that provides Benefits and Scholarships to California Highway Patrol family members. Since the CHP 11-99 Foundation was incorporated in 1981, the members of the Foundation's Board of Directors have provided over $13 million in assistance to current, retired and Fallen in the Line of Duty CHP employees and their families. For a quarter century now, the important work of the Foundation has been enabled through the generosity of tens of thousands of individual donors and volunteers and by institutional grant funding.
